Colorado Beef Council

Colorado Cattlewomen has enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with the Colorado Beef Council (CBC) since the 1960s. Sharing some of the same goals, we have supported the beef industry through promotion and education.

History of Our Partnership

The partnership was formalized by requesting the CBC to fund several of our organization’s activities.

Some of the many projects over the years supported by the council and beef checkoff dollars or materials include:

  • The Cattle in Colorado History Education Booklet for Students
  • Colorado State Fair Demonstrations
  • Teen Beef Cookoff
  • Colorado Beef Cookoff
  • Taste of Home Cooking Shows
  • Water Festivals
  • Agriculture Festivals
  • Holiday Food & Gift Shows
  • 9 Health Fairs
  • Teen Beef Ambassador
  • How a Cow Stopped the World Book
  • And Many More

Activities and Other Projects

Our other projects include supporting CSU AgFest, 5K Ranch Runs across the state, and providing travel reimbursement for members to work in the booth at NWSS.

We collect funds to support the Colorado Foundation for Agriculture. We also do other promotional activities, like handing out samples at a community event to promote eating beef or presentations at schools educating on the nutritional benefits.

Apply for Funding Today

Any local Colorado Cattlewomen’s group interested in requesting funds to cover expenses from the promotional activities budget can contact us to learn more.

Be prepared to provide information regarding the program, how it promotes beef purchases or educates the consumer on its benefits, a receipt for the purchase of beef, and a picture of the group and activity.

All requests are completed as a reimbursement, not before an activity. In addition, if a local group has an idea for a new activity, they should present it to our executive board for approval before completion.
