National Western Stock Show 2025

Submitted by Cindy Mangus, CCW NWSS Chair

The Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) initiative at the 2025 National Western Stock Show (NWSS) was a success, featuring informative materials for both producers and consumers. Attendees had access to educational flyers, stickers, cutting boards, and images showcasing Colorado producers, highlighting the importance of beef quality and safety.

While the event started off slow, we finished strong with assistance from new groups. Special appreciation goes out to those who shared posts, engaged with the local community, and especially to the 15 dedicated CattleWomen and veteran volunteers who filled 27 of the 64 available shifts.

Julie Moore played a key role in securing the Colorado State University (CSU) BQA class, which covered 14 shifts. Scott Stinnett also made an impact by involving 4-H groups, with nine youth leaders and members stepping up to participate. The Colorado Beef Advocacy Program (CBAP) returned this year, bringing their signature enthusiasm and providing two full days of coverage.

None of this would have been possible without Julie Moore and Colorado Beef Council (CBC). Her tireless dedication—ensuring smooth operations, filling gaps, and keeping daily check-ins at NWSS—was instrumental in the program’s success.

As we wrap up another year, we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed their time and energy. The collective effort of volunteers and partners continues to strengthen BQA’s mission and impact within the beef industry.
